SWSBank 152nd Young Show set to light up the Showground this Sunday

2025 Young Show Young Woman of the Year Edwina Kelly.

Young’s much-loved annual agricultural show returns this Sunday, 20 September 2026, for its 152nd edition, proudly supported by local member-owned SWSBank.

Held at the Young Showground on Murringo Road, the one-day event continues a tradition that began in 1871. After accounting for years when the show could not proceed (including the COVID cancellations), 2024 marked the official 150th show, making this year’s gathering the 152nd.

Organised by the Young Pastoral & Agricultural Association, the Young Show blends classic country show staples with family entertainment. Visitors can expect livestock judging (including cattle and poultry), horse events, yard dog trials, prime lambs, wool and agricultural produce, cooking, handicrafts, flowers and industrial art in the main pavilion.

Modern favourites such as the Lego competition, school exhibits, truck, car and bike displays, sideshow alley, trade stalls and plenty of food options round out the program. Live entertainment and a family zone keep younger visitors busy throughout the day, while the evening traditionally winds up with a fireworks display.

Gates typically open around 9am. Tickets are available at the gate or online via the show’s usual channels. Parking is available on the grounds. Note that pets are generally not permitted (service dogs and yard-dog competitors excepted).

Locals and visitors from across the region are encouraged to make a day of it — catching up with neighbours, cheering on competitors and celebrating the agricultural heart of Young and the surrounding districts.
