Held on Thursday, July 1st at the Young Services Club, the Young Hospital Auxiliary took a moment to reflect on their activities from the past month and prepare for their upcoming events.
Holding a successful luncheon for members and guests on Sunday, 14 June, Auxiliary Secretary Libby Plumley says their members are now looking forward to planning their next major fundraising event with their Open Gardens Day on Sunday, 1 November.
The Auxiliary will be conducting a major raffle to be drawn at the Open Gardens Day.
With three major prizes on offer, President Janice Ward says she believes everyone would be happy to win.
“All three prizes will go towards helping the family budget,” she says.
Substantial prizes of groceries, meat and fuel are involved with the first raffle selling day occurring from 9.00am to 5.30pm on Thursday, 9 July at Bunnings. Tickets are $5 each.
Libby says the Auxiliary was very pleased to be the recipients of a donation of $1500 from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
Commonwealth Bank Young Branch Manager, Ms Sarah Sullivan, presented President Ward with the check as part of the Bank’s 2026 Community Donation program, which was designed to enable the Bank to award grants to community organisations each year. All in the hopes of continuing to support the wellbeing of everyday Australians. President Ward thanked the Bank for its generosity.
The Auxiliary will hold their Annual General Meeting at 10.30am on Thursday, August 6 at the Young Hospital to elect office bearers and present awards of service. Visitors and new members are encouraged and welcome to attend.
