Rivers Store to Close Its Doors After Two Decades in Young

Young residents are bidding farewell to a long-standing retail staple as the Rivers store closes its doors for good today Thursday, April 3rd.

After serving the community for over two decades, the clothing and footwear store will be closing its branch in Young, leaving many local shoppers feeling a sense of nostalgia and loss.

Narissa, the manager of the store for the past two years, shared the news of the closure with a mix of emotions.

“The store is finally coming to a close on Thursday, April 3rd. Everything has to go,” she said. “It’s definitely bitter-sweet. We’ve had a loyal customer base over the years, and it’s hard to say good-bye to such a big part of the community.”

As the final days of operation approach, Narissa and her team are focused on clearing out the store’s remaining inventory, which includes a wide range of clothing, shoes, and accessories.

“There’s a reasonable amount of clothing and shoes that must clear. It’s a great opportunity for our customers to grab some amazing deals before everything is gone,” she explained.

The store’s closure is part of a larger trend that has affected retail businesses across the country, with many stores struggling to compete with online shopping and changing consumer habits.

For Rivers, the decision to close the Young location was a difficult one, but necessary due to economic pressures and shifting market trends. For many residents, Rivers has been more than just a store, it’s been a reliable go to for affordable fashion and footwear. Shoppers are expressing their sadness at the news of the closure, with some reflecting on the memories of shopping at the store with family or finding that perfect pair of shoes for an event.

Narissa is grateful for the support the store has received from the local community. “We’ve built so many relationships over the past 2 years I have been here, and I want to thank all of our customers for their loyalty,” she said. “It’s going to be hard to leave, but I hope everyone finds a great deal during our final days.”

With the closure fast approaching, local shoppers are encouraged to visit the store and take advantage of the sales before Rivers becomes a chapter in Young’s retail history.
