A 28-year-old man has been charged after allegedly stealing power tools and bathroom fittings from businesses and construction sites across the Young area.
Earlier in July, officers from the Hume Police District started an investigation into several reports from businesses and construction sites with and around Young that had been broken into.
During the investigation, police identified a number of power tools, construction equipment and bathroom fittings had been stolen across several sites.
At 8.45am on July 22, police executed a search warrant at a home within Young, where they located and seized a number of items that were believed to have been stolen, including power tools and bathroom fittings, personal items and a small amount of methylamphetamine and cannabis. All items will undergo forensic examination.
Following the search, police arrested the man who was taken to the Young Police Station.
The man was charged with three counts of larceny, three counts of break and enter a house and steal a value less than or equal to $60,000, and destroy or damage property.
He was refused bail and appeared before the Bail Division Local Court on July 23.
