The Young Yabbies went to Coota to face the Tri-Colours last Saturday, which resulted in an unfortunate 27 – 7 loss. Women had the bye for the week and took the opportunity to rest up for their next game.
Player Andrew Rice said it was a disappointing result, but the team are ready to correct it.
“Our defence was still really strong. We just need to capitalise on the opportunities we do get, which we couldn’t take advantage of, unfortunately,” he said.
“We gave one point to the 16-year-old winger Ollie. Two points went to Sonny. He was on the bench. He came in late. Our three points went to our captain again Beau O’Connor and players’ player Will Mundy.

“We were down on numbers due to a lot of our Pacific Islander players working on the Saturday, so we were missing probably a third of the team. We have had a limited bench, but still, I thought we gave Coota a good crack, but obviously, they were just better than us on the day.
“We are leaving that behind us now and preparing for West Wyalong this week at home. Hopefully, we get our season back on track because it has been a pretty rough run of it since our game in Grenfell.
“I was pretty disappointed with the result, but we have just got to move on.”
Young will play West Wyalong at home on Saturday.
