Florists and chocolatiers are revving their engines ahead of Valentine’s Day (Saturday, February 14), but those looking for gifts that hint at something extra special, the Young and Region Farmers’ Market is hosting a special Valentine’s Day themed event on Saturday, February 7 from 9.00am to 12.00pm.
Held on the first and third Saturday of each month at Anderson Park (near the Young Railway Station), the market brings together growers, makers and producers offering everything from fresh produce and local plants to handmade crafts and seasonal treats.
Love will be in the air on February 7, as will the smell of coffee, flowers and a barbecue.
Promising its usual country charm, the themed market will have a romantic twist, featuring handmade treats, floral arrangements from local growers, artisan jewellery, fresh fruit and vegetables, live music and plants, alongside other goods and services.
Rather than picking up a mass-produced item from the supermarket shelf, the market promises one-of-a-kind products that have been crafted with care by the community. Following a successful market in January, the February Valentine’s themed market is setting the tone for the season of love by encouraging visitors to love the locals.
