Sent in after winning the toss, the Cubs posted a competitive 8/115 in 20 overs. Captain Jack Woods and Ethan Miller turned a shaky start into a match-winning platform. Woods led from the front with a classy 31 off 25 balls (3 fours, 1 six) at a strike rate of 124.00 before he was caught by Mitchell Schiller off the bowling of Ethan Schiller. Miller injected serious momentum, blasting 30 off just 22 balls (2 fours, 1 six) for a strike rate of 136.36. A healthy 13 extras, including 6 wides and 2 no-balls, provided valuable breathing room on a tricky surface.
Bowling and Fielding Masterclass: Rams Bundled Out
Chasing 116, the Rams collapsed to 10/68 in just 16.3 overs as the Cubs’ attack hunted in packs and the fielders pounced. Jack Nicolls ripped through the top order with the best figures by a frontline bowler: 3 wickets for 26 runs from four overs (Econ 6.50).
Ethan Miller was simply devastating, claiming 3 wickets for 6 runs in two ruthless overs (Econ 3.00) to dismantle the lower order.
A sharp piece of fielding sealed a key moment when Robert Barron and Jack Nicolls combined for a run-out to dismiss Mitchell Schiller at a critical juncture. Hamish Hunter (2/30 off 4 overs) and Ethan Schiller (2/15 off 2 overs) fought hard with the ball for Bribbaree, but the Cubs’ intensity proved too much.
Temora Exies Renegades vs. Criterion Bin Chickens (SWSCL B Grade – Round 9)
Chris Block produced one of the great lone-hand performances to carry the Temora Exies Renegades to a 29-run victory and tighten their grip on second spot.

Facing a disciplined Bin Chickens attack under lights, the Renegades scraped to 7/106, yet Block batted the full 20 overs for an unbeaten 70 off 64 balls (6 fours, 2 sixes). He scored a remarkable 66% of his team’s runs (70 of 106), and all eight boundaries in the innings belonged to him; no teammate reached double figures beyond Charlie Watson’s 11. Greg Lestrange (2/22) and vice-captain Declan Hurcum (0/14 off 4 overs, including a maiden; Econ 3.50) asked serious questions, but Block stood tall when everyone else faltered.
Renegades’ Bowling Stranglehold: Bin Chickens Never Recover
The target of 107 always looked steep once early wickets tumbled. The Bin Chickens limped to 9/77 in their 20 overs, with four of their top five failing to reach double figures.
Mark Wilesmith was outstanding, taking 2 wickets for 6 runs from four overs (including a maiden; Econ 1.50). Harminder Singh chimed in with 2 wickets for 10 runs from his three overs, maintaining relentless pressure. Block completed a memorable all-round night with 1 wicket for 21 runs and a vital catch.
Skipper Jacob Dodge resisted gamely with 22 off 22 balls, but the required rate climbed inexorably. With the win, the Renegades leap to 52 points (7-1 record) and second place, while the Bin Chickens hold seventh on 37 points.
