Motorbike enthusiasts are set to descend on the Young Showgrounds once again, with the return of the Black Dog Ride Bike Show, held in conjunction with the Young Show Society.
Now in its second year, the bike show is organised by local rider and Black Dog Ride supporter Tex, who says he’s excited to build on the success of last year’s event.
“Last year was my first time being involved, and it was fantastic,” Tex said. “We had riders come from all over, seven from Gilgandra, about 13 from Wagga, and a bunch from Orange. They really came from near and far.”
With 33 bikes on display last year, organisers are hoping to attract even more in 2025. There’s no need to register in advance, just ride in, pay at the gate, and visit the Black Dog Ride stand to enter your bike. A wide range of categories will be judged on the day, including Learner’s Bike (L and P platers), Sports Bike, Enduro, Best Three-Wheel, Best American, Best Japanese, Best British, and even a “Not So Pretty” category. All entries will also go in the running for the prestigious Bike of the Show award.
“It’s all about having a good day and raising awareness for mental health,” Tex said. “Hopefully, we can make it bigger and better this year.”
The Black Dog Ride continues to be a strong advocate for mental health awareness, and events like this offer both a celebration of motorbike culture and a reminder of the importance of looking out for one another.
