Milestone Man Jake Veney (Pictured) got himself a try in his 100th game.
The Young Cherrypickers showed once again why they are the benchmark of the competition, sweeping aside the Albury Thunder 44-10.
Special plaudits went to half back Tom Demeio who managed the game brilliantly throughout and made a good Albury Thunder side look substandard throughout the majority of the game.
Players player was awarded to milestone man Jake Veney who notched up his 100th game for the Pickers. Key contributors for the Cherrypickers also included coach and star front rower Tom Giles who was his usual damaging self through the middle, centre Matt Noakes and Giles front row partner Jake Walker.
The Pickers play host to Group 9 newcomers Cootamundra Bulldogs on Sunday. The Bulldogs; who returned to Group 9 after a six year hiatus, will be looking to get their first win of the season after narrowly missing out last week to Tumut.
Elsewhere in Group 9, an injury-riddled Temora Dragons escaped with the two points against the South City Bulls, the Wagga Brothers were picked apart by the Junee Diesels at Laurie Daley Oval,Wagga Kangaroos out-lasted the Gundagai Tigers in a potential finals game prelude and the Tumut Blues managed to chase down the front running Bulldogs to take away two points from Fisher Park.
